What to send for a fabrication review
- Event, venue, build country and known installation dates.
- Dimensioned floor plan and elevations, with a revision date.
- Materials, visible finishes, graphic dimensions and equipment interfaces.
- Requested scope, budget currency and the person approving changes.

Drawing gaps and production release record
Turn a rendering into a checkable fabrication package and control release with revision and decision records.
This is a process teaching sample, not a real client case, completed delivery or proof of workshop ownership. Copy it for project preparation and adapt it to the actual scope. Project acceptance, pricing and delivery arrangements require individual confirmation.
How to use it
- Record gaps without guessing dimensions from a rendering.
- On receipt of a revision, check affected components and downstream work.
- Retain the release reference; pending confirmation does not mean ready for fabrication.

Teaching example: a counter drawing omits an access opening. Record its required position and dimensions, request confirmation from the designated role and revise the same document. Keep release pending until confirmed.

Turn a design package into a fabrication brief
A rendering can communicate the appearance of a stand but may leave dimensions, assembly details and interfaces open. Provide the available plans and mark which details are approved, provisional or missing. Use one revision identifier across the drawing set, graphics and scope list.
For a design agency, identify which decisions remain with your designer and which details need production review. For an exhibitor, identify the person authorized to accept design, budget and scope changes. The review records open questions before a production commitment.
Specify stand carpentry and visible finishes
Break the stand into components such as reception counters, display walls, product plinths, storage and other designed elements. For each item, record dimensions, visible surfaces, finish references, graphic positions and the connection to adjoining components.
Curves, access panels, equipment recesses and reusable joints should appear in the brief where required. Material or finish substitutions need a recorded decision because they can affect appearance, fabrication work and the approved design.
Agree pre-build and quality checks
Define which items need a dimension check, finish review or trial assembly and what evidence should be recorded. A review list can include component identifiers, the approved drawing revision, photographs, open items and the person accepting the result.
Workshop checks and venue checks answer different questions. An assembled component can be inspected before dispatch; its final interface with hall power or equipment must be checked at the relevant project stage. The inspection scope is agreed for the project.
Connect fabrication to installation and dismantling
State whether the request covers fabrication alone or includes packing, delivery interfaces, installation, handover and dismantling. Record who supplies graphics and equipment, who orders venue services and where responsibility transfers between teams.
Share the event deadlines with the drawings. Feasibility, production arrangements and pricing depend on the actual design, destination and available schedule. No minimum area, fixed turnaround or universal price is implied by this page.

Fabrication questions
Can you work from an existing design?
Yes, existing drawings can be submitted for a fabrication review. Scope, technical details and responsibilities are confirmed before a quotation or production commitment.
Is a 3D rendering enough for production?
It is useful for visual intent. Dimensioned plans, elevations, materials and relevant interfaces still need to be agreed for fabrication.
Can design agencies submit a project?
Yes. Include the design approval contact, the current drawing revision and the work you want reviewed. Design ownership and change approvals should be clear.
Does fabrication automatically include installation?
No. Installation, transport interfaces, dismantling and storage must be listed in the agreed project scope.

Project scope
This page describes the review process. Production location, workshop arrangements, schedule, price and included checks are confirmed for each project. Gallery images are visual references and do not establish a particular factory address or completed project scope.
